Blade Runner Notes

-2019 time period

    -Dystopic

-Blade runner performing a test 

-Test to provoke an emotional response

-4 replicants on the loose

-Nexus 6 developed in 2016

    -AI

    -4 year life span

-Test is for replicants

-Rachel is a replicant

    -She doesn't know she's one

    -Fake memories to make her life seem realistic as a human

        -Memories are from the niece of Tyrell

    -Human reactions

    -She has emotion

-Chew designed the eyes of Leon and Roy

-Rachel suspects she's a replicant but she has family photos

-Deckard tells Rachel the truth and it upsets her

    -Interesting how human-like she is

    -Identity crisis (possible theme??)

-J.F. makes his friends - they're toys

    -Genetic designer

-Deckard is looking at some family photos

    -Studies Leon's family picture with a machine

-Deckard tries convincing Rachel to come to the club

-Pretends to be on the Committee of Moral Abuses

-Zhora caught on to what Deckard was doing and attacked him

    -He chases her through the street and guns her down 

-Rachel is on their hit list now too

-Rachel saves Deckard, who was about to be killed by Leon

    -They go back to his apartment

-Sebastian learns that Roy and Pris are replicants

    -Convinced Sebastian to take them to Tyrell

-Roy demands Tyrell to give them a longer life span; he says it is impossible

    -Roy crushes Tyrell's skull and pushes his eyes in with his bare thumbs 

-Deckard gets a notice that Tyrell and Sebastian have both been murdered

-Deckard goes to Sebastian's apartment, which is full of creepy toys and dolls, and Pris disguises herself as one

-Pris ultimately dies after attacking Deckard

-Roy comes and finds Pris dead

    -Deckard tries to shoot him, but he misses

-Roy punches his fist through the wall where Leon is and breaks Deckard's knuckles

-Roy just stuck a nail through his own hand???

-Deckard manages to climb to the rood and jumps over to another building's roof, dangling on

-Roy is scary

-"That's what it is to be a slave" (possible societal theme)

-Roy pulls Deckard up

-Roy's expiration date is coming, his last few moments he tells Deckard of the things he's seen

-The dove is symbolic of the replicant's humanity in some way

-I think the nail meant something too, maybe since Roy's expiration was coming he wanted to feel true human pain

-"It's too bad she won't live; but then again, who does?"

-The rain and darkness of the movie convey darker themes and introduce the theme of the Unknown

Creative Process for Final

 When deciding on a movie, we wanted it to be something creative that no one else would do. We googled sci-fi movies and passed around a bun...
